The right time and right palce are often hard to find when taking photos, but this terrific photographer has done it.

The contrasting colours and the lights and dark bring the image to life. The 3Dness of the clouds and highlights within them show how much depth there is to a simple cloud. The angle is marvelous getting in lots of cloud above the picture with a simple calm scenery below, not distracting from the main image but so boring that it ruins the photo.

I personally love the black and white, and I think that if the photo had been in colour the impact and the stunning shock of it wouldn't have been as effective. The blacks of the foreground really highlight the sky and the rays of light shining down are a definite positive towards the overall image.

Overall, stunning photo and the right time and place were achieved. Also, I love the lamppost. For some reason my head is telling me it's not in the right spot but it looks fantastic where it is, like a gateway to the clouds. And I love how it looks like some of the rays are shining from the lamp.

Though to the right slightly there is a statue? I guess and it seems to be meaningless there, so maybe a small crop of this would improve the image though it hardly needs it.
